Checking-in to class early and want to get a head start on the material? Here are some things you can do:

bulletFamiliarize yourself with the Math Online Web. Lots of information about my online classes is listed there!

bulletCheck-out your specific class website linked from the Math Online Web. Be sure to read the math online syllabus and your specific class syllabus both linked from your class website.

bulletPurchase access to MyMathLab*. MyMathLab access is required for all classes. MML provides access to the entire textbook online so the hard copy textbook is completely optional. The quizzes and exams will be conducted in MML. Detailed information about MyMathLab is stated in the "course materials" section of your class syllabus. *If you do not need to purchase another MML code if you are continuing in the same text, e.g. if you are taking math 095 after math 090 in the same text.

bulletYour MyMathLab course will become available usually about one week prior to the start of class.
Register with MML to establish your account at that time. The complete directions along with the MyMathLab Course ID that you will need are stated in the "course materials" section of your class syllabus.

bulletPurchase any other supplemental materials required for your class (see the "course materials" section of your class syllabus).

bulletAssignment #1 will be to post a brief introductory biography to the discussion board on BlackBoard, so you could write that ahead of time if you want and then just cut 'n paste to post it to class on the first day.

bulletLastly, although I think you should be fully enjoying your break, if you really want to get a head start on the reading material, refer to these items:

bulletFor Math 089: Start reading chapter 1 in the online Blitzer text.
Note that sections 1.1, 1.5-1.7 are all review. Focus on 1.2, 1.4, and 1.8.
Section 1.3 will be covered later in the term.

bulletFor Math 090: Start reading chapter 1 in the online Blitzer text.
Note that sections 1.1, 1.5-1.7 are all review. Focus on 1.2, 1.4, and 1.8.
Section 1.3 will be covered later in the term.

bulletFor Math 091: Start reading chapter 4 in the online Blitzer text. Note that we skip 8.6-8.8 and will do chapter 5-7 after ch 4.

bulletFor Math 093: Start reading chapter 10 in the online Blitzer text. Read The Jump from Math 091 to Math 093 -- note that this document refers to the Tussy text, but the general information is still valid.

bulletFor Math 095: Start reading chapter 6 in the online Blitzer text (which corresponds to chapter 5 in the Tussy/Gustafon text) and/or review chapter 5 from math 090 (which is chapter 4 in the Tussy text).

bulletFor Math 103: Start reading chapter 1 in the online McKeague text.

bulletFor Math& 107: Start reading chapter 14 in the online Miller/Heeren/Hornsby text.
Also purchase The Universe and the Teacup book and begin reading chapter I + 1-2.

bulletFor Math 111: Start reading 1 in the online Blitzer text. Note that chapter P and sections 1.1-1.5 are all review. Focus on 1.6-1.7.
